QUALITY MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND
PROTOCOLS
Delivery of quality healthcare is ensured in Glad Tidings Medical Centre through a critical observance of the following processes and protocols.
(1) Effective infection prevention protocol, in terms of:
– Maintenance of a very clean environment by mandatory thorough cleaning of the
hospital floors and toilets with disinfectants as often as it demands.
– Proper waste disposal system involving adequate sorting of medical and
domestic waste into their different categories as well as proper packaging at
the point of final collection from where they are collected by LAWMA.
– Adequate sterilization of both surgical and dressing instruments.
– Personal protective measures among health workers to prevent cross infection.
– Usage of hand sanitizers by patients.
(2) Prompt and adequate healthcare delivery is ensured via availability of
qualified medical personnel and hospital staffs that are being retrained and
are well groomed.
With this, we render 24hours healthcare service on a daily basis and our clients
(i) Receive warm reception at their arrival into our health facility.
(ii) Undergo a smooth medical record retrieval or registration process.
(iii) Receive medical consultation without delay.
(iv) Have treatment plans promptly carried out as they pass through the
following section(s):
* Laboratory
* Ultrasounds scan room
* The nurses bay
* Cashier office
* Treatment room for the out-patients or
* The wards/labour room for the in-patients
Medical review/ward rounds are carried out at regular intervals by the doctor
on duty and the nurses. Surgical operations/procedures are well planned and
performed in a proper operating theatre setting.

HANDLING MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
When emergency case comes in, in the
midst of other activities, the emergency case takes the priority.
(1) Patient is quickly taken to emergency section for prompt medical
intervention.
(2) Quick hospital file retrieval/registration goes hand-in-hand with brief
history taken and assessment of the patient.
(3) Urgent bed-side lab test is done, and appropriate resuscitative
intervention is given to safe patient’s life.
(4) Patient is later transferred to the main ward once he is relatively stable
for review and further management.
